Bed Linen and Colour: Simple Ways To Redesign
Designing the rooms in your house requires time and energy. There are so many things you need to take into account, especially if you are new at it. Here are the basics to help get you on your way.
1) Primarily, you need to consider the personalities of everyone living in the house. If it’s just you living in the house, you can go wild with whatever you like. For couples, their personalities are very often opposites. Compromise and negotiate on colour, furniture and accessories so you end up with rooms you both like.
2) Have a look in magazines and design journals for inspiration and to get an idea of what your room could handle. This really gives you the visual you need to think with when it will come to designing your own rooms, as it can be intimidating staring at those blank white walls trying to figure out what you are going to do in there.
3) Make sure that you don’t rush into choosing a colour for your room, as this will determine the atmosphere of your room. If there are any colours that you really don’t like, don’t use them. You might have chosen your furniture already, or be using some that you already have, if this is the case make sure you pick colours that works with this. Likewise, if you have any fabrics in mind make sure you choose colours for them. Make sure you buy bed linen that complements the colour of the walls.
4) Place your furniture around the room wisely as it can affect the room’s overall look. Making a room look and feeler smaller is not a good idea. Move the furniture around the room until you are happy with it.
5) You can turn a house into a home by adding some cleverly placed accessories like candles or lamps. Plants and bright flowers can brighten a room up. They have life in them that gives a comfortable feeling to any space. A crystal vase or some photos can also soften a room.
You can decorate your own home without finding it difficult. Experiment with colours, furniture and accessories, make it fun and don’t get frustrated if it takes you a while to get it right.
