Dogs bark and this is just a fact of life. However, as a dog owner you should have your dog trained so they know when to bark and when not to. If they are constantly howling or barking it is going to get on your nerves and also everyone else around you. For that very reason, bark control is an important part of any home dog’s training. Fortunately for dog owners everywhere who are dealing with this problem, there are some great bark control products and ideas available.
The Anti Bark Collar
If you want to reduce your dog’s barking without having to pay an expensive trainer, then the anti bark collar is one of the best ways to go. There are actually a few different versions of this collar available, from the citronella dog bark collar to the shock dog bark collar. The range of collars in the market is so wide that it satisfies everyone’s needs.
Some people like the shock dog collar because it works so effectively but at the same time it does give your dog a slight electrical shock every time they bark so some owners worry about their dog being harmed by it
If you belong to the group of people that dislike the idea of electrical shocks on your dog, no matter how mild they are, then the citronella bark control collar is another option you can try. This collar uses a microphone to sense when the dog is barking and when it does, a small spray of citronella shoots out. The citronella smell, in case you don’t know, is the same smell that is used to repel mosquitoes.

Training School
Dog collars are the way to go if you want to keep your costs to a minimum. Nevertheless, if you really want something different, you may want to send your dog to a dog school for obedience classes. Especially if your dog has a serious problem with barking and the collars do not seem to be doing enough this is probably going to be the best thing you can do.

Manufacturers of bark control collars make them with a switch that you can use to turn off the collar. You may want to do this at nighttime for instance when you want your dog to alert you of intruders.
