How to Bring Traffic to a Landing Page
Now, you’ve gone all out to build a website in your niche and you have loads of design and programming going on. You have an auto responder, you’ve hired people to do encryption and you have a shopping cart. You’ve created the content for your site, with a nice mix of articles, audios, videos and downloadable digital products for your members. You have your domain name and hosting purchased for a few years and you’re looking to make some money. You even have several back up plans for your website to make it a great place for people to shop. In other words, you’ve been working hard and now you’re ready for the big bucks to start rolling in. Now all you need is the most important thing… traffic.
First, let’s talk about search engine optimization. This involves keywords and how people use them to find your website amongst billions of sites over the internet right now. You have to find out what these keywords are. If you really need to attract traffic through search engine optimization, brainstorming your your traffic generation scheme will involve sourcing out these words and phrases related to your niche which have a high demand (aggregate search value) and a low supply (small amount of competing sites). After which, you can pattern your marketing campaigns around these keywords.
If, for example, you decide to put your money on traffic generation programs that are pay per click (PPC) in nature, such as Adwords, your best way to attract and maintain traffic is to tweak the landing page in such a way that someone who clicked your keyword’s link will instantly connect with your landing page on an emotional level.
This is one of the main reasons why web masters who do promotions through PPC fail to get the results they want: they don’t tune it to fit a specific audience.
If you have a product, there are so many types of people that would need it. A landing page should communicate your exact message for a person who fits the profile of your target market. If you’re promoting a product that a man and a woman could use, you should create different landing pages for the different types of traffic you will be getting. Doing this will increase traffic to your site because people who go there won’t be clicking away in three seconds. Generating traffic through PPC means split testing different landing pages to find out what type of customers you’re attracting, and to find out which marketing prompts and keywords actually generate the most traffic to your site.
Lastly, you can try article marketing to warm up your potential leads before they even reach your landing page. You can publish articles that talk about your site on other places online.
