Pack For A Vacation Without Stressing
Vacations can be awesome experiences, but planning for them isn’t at all. Finding passports, packing luggage, and a finding house sitter can really dampen the vacation spirit. However, it doesn’t have to. Getting a little advice can help you get organized, and then all you have to worry about is having fun. First, find your passport. If you can’t, consider getting an expedited passport renewal. It costs extra, but the peace of mind is definitely worth it.
Even if you aren’t going out of the country, keeping your passport with you is always a good idea. A passport is a good form of identification, and if your wallet or purse gets stolen, it will prove to be an irreplaceable lifeline. If the dog ate your passport, consider a damaged passport replacement. You’re going to have to do it eventually, so do it now so you don’t have to worry about it later.
Packing without over packing is one of the hardest things to do when planning for a trip. Especially if you have to walk with your luggage, having six bags full of shoes for every occasion definitely won’t seem worth it when you have to transport your bags. The first thing to do is relax and start a checklist. Just throwing things in your bag as you think of them could leave you forgetting something important. Make sure you have all the necessities down, no matter how obvious they are: plane ticket, passport, car keys, hotel reservations, directions, etc.
What will the weather look like? What will you are doing? What kind of places will you be staying? These are vital questions to keep in mind when you’re packing for a trip. Consider exactly what type of vacation you are taking. Are you going to the beach? Then you’ll need towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, flip-flops, and a bathing suit. If it’s going to be chilly, bring gloves, a scarf, and a coat. If you’re going to be hiking in the mountains, bring a sturdy backpack and good hiking shoes.
Try to get the travel-sized versions of all your toiletries, especially if you’re flying. Toiletries take up huge amounts of space and are prone to explosions or leaks. You will most likely be able to run into a grocery store or a drug store to replenish your supply if you run out.
Spend the time to scan and make copies of your important travel papers, like your passport, reservations, tickets, phone numbers, and driver’s license. Email the scans to yourself so you can always access them if you need to. Make copies for family members or the house sitter so they know where to reach you.
Know all you need to do is manage to squeeze it into your suitcase. Eliminate anything you know you won’t need. Be sure to have your passport, and invest in an expedited passport renewal or a damaged new passport replacement if you need too. Now you are ready to go.
