Seven Habits To Follow To Ensure Good Health

These days there is not much that cannot be accomplished aesthetically if someone has the financial resources to afford it. The before and after pictures of a person who desires a nose adjustment or perhaps a tummy tuck can be dramatic and can definitely contribute to a greater perception of outward beauty. However, some of the greatest strides have been made in the area of physician assisted teeth reconstruction and restoration particularly for people who have been bothered for years by their appearance. A prominent Fort Lauderdale Cosmetic Dentist reports that his practice has definitely been aided by the advertising he was wise enough to invest in that showed several pictures of people before his skilled services and after he had performed his facial altering treatments. In all cases, there was a dramatic improvement in their appearance and to a person all of them reported a tremendous increase in self confidence. He further stated that most of these recently available services such as hard to detect clear braces, porcelain veneers, and the simple process of whitening teeth can be found in many offices of his fellow Fort Lauderdale General Dentistry providers.

But it goes without saying that possessing a perfect smile does not indicate that a person is a healthy individual. The ability to change your appearance for the better by improving obvious flaws is wonderful but it is vital that the same amount of attention is paid to the very basic ways of maintaining good health. Seven of the most obvious good health habits are:

1. Fruits and Vegetables: A diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables is suggested for the most return of health benefits. It is wise to stay away from most processed food and concentrate instead on the more natural foods that are available on a year round basis now.

2. Less Red Meat: The current thinking is that red meat should only be eaten once or twice a week due to the high saturated fat content. Chicken and pork are slightly healthier choices but they too should be eaten on a limited basis and vegetarian meals should be considered a couple of times a week.

3. More Fish: The studies show that eating fish, in particular salmon, a couple of times a week is a very healthy option. The fat that is found in fish has a good effect on the body and contributes to all around good health.

4. A Glass of Wine Daily: A glass of wine daily has been proven to be a good habit to form but more than that can prove to be detrimental. The benefits of drinking red wine seem to outweigh the benefits of drinking white wine at this time.

5. Use Only Good Fats: Using cooking oils and spreads that are high in monounsaturated fats is much better for you than those loaded with saturated fat. Olive oil is the one most highly recommended.

6. Exercise: The benefits of exercise cannot be underestimated and even a little bit of exercise regularly can be a fine beginning. Being inactive contributes to diabetes, heart disease and other chronic health conditions and moving around a little not only guards against these maladies but it also improves mood and provides a brighter outlook on life.

7. Flossing: It has been found that people who take the time to daily floss their teeth are in much better health than people who do not perform this good hygiene habit. It is not known at this time whether it is due to the fact that it aids in eliminating bacteria and inflammation from the mouth that can travel to the heart or because people who take the time to floss also take better care of themselves in general.
